Lab 01. After the background motion on L'Atelier's Social Mobility pages: a field of loose dots that gathers into a picture as you scroll, then scatters again as you leave.

Dust becomes a face.

Fourteen thousand dots drift in front of the camera. Scroll and they travel back into place, each one taking the colour of the photograph where it lands. Einstein, 1947, public domain.

The same dots become Turing.

Keep scrolling and the face lets go. The dots spread across the screen, then gather again as a bust of Alan Turing, 1936. This one has depth, so it turns as you scroll.

Then a machine.

The dots gather onto the surface of a real 3D model, a Unitree G1 humanoid from an STL, and it turns as you scroll. Any mesh can take its place: one command turns an STL, GLB or OBJ into a point file the page loads. Every chapter is the same field of dots handed from one picture to the next.

Then the sea.

Move the pointer and the whole field leans with you. Fog fades the dots that drift far away.

Then the sun.

Scroll back up and everything runs in reverse. Use the panel to change the feel, or swap the pictures in lab.ts.
